very cool, although look at history, monarchs arent always the best... which was the problem lol
the people cant just vote their monarch away, the monarch would most likey have to be overthrown from the inside or by a revolt, which could fail with massive casualties, but ur idea might be cool a 50/50 monarchy/democracy *nodnod* monarchs get more respect IMO, kings and queens have been ingraven into the minds of people as images of honor and wealth and prosperity
and having a kind and benevolent king or queen that genuenly cares for the people of his or her country is the best thing to have i think =]

What the hell did she do for the country? Churchill, he saved the country from invasion by Nazis. Now thats a great Briton!
The wedding is over, and Letizia Ortiz is now Princess Letizia. Long live Spain! ^_^ Too bad it rained though, it would have been much nicer without any clouds in the sky.

LOL, you won't believe it, the Prince and Princess won the lottery! A random citizen felt like sending them a couple lottery tickets (lots of citizens sent gifts for them) because they had the numbers 22 and 05 or something like that (they married 22/05), and they won $30000!

Yes, they started their honeymoon today. The Royal House spokesperson said they will be visiting places of rich artistic and cultural tradition, most of which are in Spain.
The first place they visited is the Fortified City of Cuenca. Spain has lots of unknown great places; it's sad because similar (sometimes better, sometimes worse) places in other European countries (especially France) get brutally overrated in comparison; we must suck at marketing. Cuenca is one of these places, located in the east of the Castilian plateau and declared Humanity's Heritage in 1996. In there, you can:
■ Eat and sleep in the Hanging Houses, unique houses built on cliffs half a millenia ago. Legends say the ghost of a woman who found her husband in bed with another woman in the house you see in the picture also lives there...
■ See the stunning Enchanted City, a magical forest with strange shaped stones. You hardly realize their huge size until you're there.
■ Visit the cathedral.
■ And enjoy the beautiful natural places in the area.
